When you goout in the morning, you don’t expect to get stuck in traffic for hours andhours to get to a place that would normally take you less than half hour to getto. This morning, hundreds of people discover that the principal arteries ofthe country we´re absolutely blocked by traffic jams. The extension of the carlines we´re up to 4 km around El Pedregal St. (1)
The singleact of blocking a secondary 400 mts. Street, caused more than a half a day of excessivetraffic all around the country. But this reflects more than bad organization ofthe events going on that day and the fact that there’s too many cars in thecountry: it comes to show that the public space is inexistent in themetropolitan area of El Salvador, and people are being forced to discover newplaces for leisure, for sportive events, and in between this big activities: tointeract socially, to grow and to experience the city.
