For me, El Salvador does not have manypublic spaces, because all of these pedestrian places are connected withcommerce, or they are within the malls. The existing plazas and parks are especiallyin villages, or they are reputed to be too dangerous, that are used by gangmembers, or the indigent people occupy for living. There is no control or maintenance of thesespaces, which makes me not want to go to one of them. It´s something I reallywant in my country, but in my opinion, it's a reality very far away. I dream ofa place full of nature, with fresh air and when you can feel the breeze and especially where I can share with the people I love, without having to spend orconsume.
Salvadorians are not accustomed to sharing in publicspaces, because in our culture, we have not been taught the habit. On thecontrary, we know the reality of the country, so we tend to fear these spaces,so we don’t wanting to visit them, because in the end, we prefer not to go outand stay in our houses to go to these places.
