EPHEMERAL: Eternaly Ephemeral... OASIS

A JUNGLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY by Sofía Rivera
Looking for the ephemeral by myself, I ended up in one of the most eternal places around UCA that I know... the OASIS.
This little nest is very difficult to describe with words, all I can say is that it has the scars of history, the trees that have taken over of the roof, the perfect balance between light and shadow, the mystery of the juices, the flexibility of the moving tables and the rigidity of the benches, the side walk as a friendly corridor, and above all, the costumers: old couples that have been going there for more than 25 years, students that just love to stay there, young couples that love the intimacy of the oasis, workers from far away and neighbors from the next door, everyone is invited to the Oasis, to drink from the fountain of youth.

At the end of the day, only the benches and the closed mysterious window remain, the Oasis goes to sleep, waiting for the sun to return.

  1. I like your perception of the ephemeral concept in the Oasis place, because maybe you want to spend more time in that place but u can't when the night comes and becomes ephemeral. Personally i have never been there, but i need to go someday, it catches my attention.
