Our group concept is the word (in)formality, and the first thing we had in mind is that we can´t ignore the “in” suffix, so we split the concept into formality and informality, and then we decided to create the phrase Informality in formality, but before the next step, we need to know other words that can be associated with formality and informality, these are the followings:
Formality: order, right, demand, particular use, planned, formal surroundings, comfort.
Informality: freedom, out of context, mess, power, bad condition, improvise, wit and creativity, need, contrast, catches your attention, unexpected.
The place that we chose is the surrounding area of Guatemala plaza in Antiguo Cuscatlán. The reason that we picked this place is because when we saw this location, we were fascinated with that place because meets the characteristics present in the phrase, and its full of improvised food locals that are considered informal, between a big formal institutional area like schools, and a church, and it’s quite interesting that despite the fact that this place is considered as informal for their appearance, has some former tables to eat, benches, has a canopy, and at lunch time, many people from the schools come to eat there. So it’s important for us to observe and study all the aspects of the place that makes the site behave as it does.
