Our first impression of La Cuchilla community, rather than fear was uncertainty, some things was in our minds, like: what else isin this place?, what are gonna be their reactions?.Whenthey arrived, the uncertaintywas over and a group ofpeople was there gettingreadyto give us atour of the entirecommunity. They told usa little aboutthe community thatthere are families whohave several yearsof living there, includingsomecarrying more than50 years, they feel belongingfor the area.As theytelling us abouttheir lifestyle, we went throughall thepaths madeby the inhabitantsof the community,we realizethat there are severaluses,a community house, a small church, soccer, groceries, evena cornfield, havewater service, garbage collectionon Monday, some familieshave electricity. The housesare mostlytin, wood pieces, madewith the few thingsthey have andas they could. The communityis bisected bythe creek El Piro, which createsunsafe conditionsfor families inthe area, butneverthelesshave knownhow to livein those circumstances, since it isa strong community, organized withcooperationand teamwork, made upmostlyhealthy young, aspiringonly thing thatprevents them from beingaformalcommunity, are thelegal issuesof territory, which are workingin the hopethat somedayaccepttheir request.
