The “Eating Out” experience in San Salvador was very interesting, it was the starting line for us to understand the city and see it with a different pair of eyes. We are so used to seeing the usual and assuming space is developing in a certain way, because we live it in a different perspective: the inside of a car. We just pass by, listening to superstitions and comments about some places without really knowing them, which makes us understand them in a wrong way.
We visited Plaza Guatemala and, throughout this exercise, noticed that the city is not developing as a whole, like it was originally planned; it will always transform and evolve because of the complexity in which it is immersed. While we were eating there, we noticed its relation with the buildings and neighbors that surround it, even if they were conceived in a completely different time. This space was part of a plan and context where it was meant to complement the services of the rest of the buildings inside the area. Watching the city in this way, made us know and understand the city in a better way.
